The Versa Bed is the most versatile van bed available, giving you the opportunity to turn your bed into a bench, table, bunk, or even remove it when not needed. You just gained a lot of space in your living room!
The Versa Bed system consists of 4 bed panels and 4 - 72” lengths of J-channel, which is what is used to mount the platforms along the walls of the van. Also included are 8 finger-tighten bolts to secure the panels to or into the J-channel and oval metal plates to create a stop for the backrest.
The J-Channel can be mounted at any height in the van to create one large platform bed, two bunks, a desk and bench, a tailgating table between your back doors, or anything else you can dream up. The panels can also be completely removed to open up that space for another use.
There are 4 unique panels that are each 18” wide and can expand from 60”-70” long to fit Sprinters, Promasters, and Transits. The bed panels hang from our J-channel which can be hung at any height. We recommend setting two heights of J-channel and planning space to allow for bunks or a bench seat set up. Additional J-channel can be purchased for options like a table/desk height, backdoor tailgating table, etc.
Each panel will fit into the J-channel on the side of the van, as well as interlock with the panel next to it to create a sturdy J-channel system.
Panel 1 has a finished front edge without any brackets so the front of your bed will be smooth and finished. The back edge has brackets to interlock with the neighboring panel.
Panel 2 is specially designed to hang from Panel 3 or Panel 4, as well as the J-channel, to create a bench seat when not in use as a bed. Panel 2 can be secured in place when in the vertical position to prevent it from swinging back and forth by building a receiver for the bolts where your bench back will be. Also included in the system are oval, metal plates with a hole in them that can be built out as a receiver for the backstop bolt.
Panel 3 has brackets on both sides to allow the panels around it to attach into it, including hanging panel 2 from the front in a vertical position.
Panel 4 has brackets on the front side, to allow a panel to attach into it or hang panel 2 from it in a vertical position. The rear side has receivers for the bolts of our keystone piece, a curved addition to the bed system, should you want to finish the space between the bed and the backdoors. The keystone piece is attached with 3 finger-tighten bolts like those found in the bed system and can be easily attached and removed.
Panels are labelled in two places on the underside.
The bolts can be tightened up to the J-channel if you want constant flexibility or you can drill holes at the designated points in the J-channel where you will want your panels. This will lock the panels into the J-channel and prevent them from sliding while your vehicle is in motion. An upgrade to a spring-loaded plunger system is available for quicker release of the bolts.
You may order extra J-channel if you need more options for bed panel placement.
Please note that our bed system is not a mounting kit or a wall kit and you are responsible for attaching your J-channel when installing the system in your van. Fasteners are not included for attaching the J-channel to the walls. We do not specify recommended heights as each van build is unique and there are too many variables to consider.
Installation note: Vans such as the Sprinter 144 will be limited to 3 panels across, due to the dimension to the sliding door, however will still accommodate 4 panels in a bunk configuration.
The Versa Bed system is only sold as a complete set, individual panels are not available.
