The Vision: Prioritize the Essentials

When building on a 144" chassis, the goal is often to create a self-contained habitat that requires zero compromise once you’re off the grid. Rather than trying to make a small van do many things poorly, this build is designed to do the essentials perfectly.

By centralizing the 24" Interior Shower, the 18" Sink Base, and the 18" Nova Kool Fridge Base  into one area, you have a permanent, hard-walled bathroom and a dedicated kitchen that functions exactly like a larger rig, but with the nimbleness and parking ease of a short-wheelbase Sprinter. It’s a layout designed for the owner needs the flexibility of an open layout during the week, but wants to arrive at the campsite and park with no setup required.

Why This Layout Works

  • The Centralized 24" Shower: We’ve placed the 24" Interior Shower in the mid-section of the van. This serves as a structural anchor for the build, providing a private, fully enclosed bathroom that doesn't block the rear view or the passenger-side sliding door flow.
  • Continuous Overhead Storage: We have maximized every available inch of the ceiling with a combined 36" and 21" upper cabinet run in the rear, plus a 16" upper and 20" Microwave cabinet in the front. This massive 73 inches of overhead storage moves your entire life off the floor, maximixing the available cargo space in the garage and cabin..
  • The Microwave & Cold Storage Hub: Positioned at the front of the driver-side galley, the Microwave Cabinet sits directly above the 18" Nova Kool Fridge Base. This creates a localized "appliance hub" that keeps your food prep separate from your "bathroom" zone, maximizing workflow efficiency.
  • Asymmetric Floor Plan: By using a 22" Wheel Well Cover on the driver's side and a slim 12" Wheel Well Cover on the passenger side, we’ve created a wider center aisle. The 22" cover is deep enough to house a larg electrical system , while the 12" cover provides plenty of usable storage while.
  • The "Short-Run" Plumbing Strategy: Because the sink and shower are back-to-back, your plumbing lines are incredibly short. This means less weight, fewer potential leak points, and faster hot water delivery to both your tap and your shower head.
  • Cab Organization: The inclusion of our Headliner Shelf reclaims the "dead space" above the driver and passenger seats, providing a perfect home for window covers, jackets, and quick-access gear.
